12 year olds foreskin still tight

Hello, I don't know should I be alarmed about it, but my son is nearly 12 years old and he still cannot pull his foreskin back. It is too tight. He has no problems so far and has had no infections. So, I don't know should he be circumcised just in case?

I suppose this is not something you need to worry about at the moment, since he had no problems with foreskin being tight. In younger children the foreskin is attached to the underlying head of the penis and usually by the age of 3-4, the foreskin becomes more protractile. But in some boys the flap of skin on the underside of the penis keeps the foreskin well-applied to the head of the penis making this retraction difficult. As your son is 12 and he will soon go through puberty it is likely that this flap of skin known as the frenum will stretch and allow retraction. If it doesn't, he may see a doctor about it.
