I had an echocardiogram during a recent hospital stay. I have continued chest, left shoulder and left arm pain. I randomly experience painful throbing that causes buldging veins in my neck and elbow followed by small bruises that appear after the painful episodes. The only finding of the echocardiogram was 1+ mitral regurgitation. My general Dr. interprets this report as no significant finding, however I've read that mitral regurgitation can be serious. What type of Dr. can clearly diagnose or treat mitral regurgitation?
