2 missed periods, negative pregnancy test. What is wrong?

About a month ago I missed my period so I took a pregnancy test at home and it was negative. I was put on birth control around the same time but since I never started my period I just started taking the pills on a random day. A week ago I got to the placebos and I never started my period. Another missed period. I've had a lot of stress and stress-related problems lately and was wondering if that could be causing me to miss periods. Should I be worried I might be pregnant?
