2nd period this month with heavey clotting and cramping

I am 46 years old and have had pretty normal 6 to 7 day periods untill this month. I am on my 2nd period and both with very heavey clotting and cramping. I have no health insurance so kinda hard to just run to the dr for any reason but now I am beggining to worry. I am feeling light headed and weak and have a low grade temp of about99.6 and head aches bad..I do know that this could all be the start of menapause or have been told that by others but could it be something more dangerous??Please if anyone has or has had these symtoms let me know what the outcome was..I am scard and not feeling well and not sure where to go for help but will go in if this doesn't get better soon.Any info would be greatly appreciated...thanks
