My daughter has been having the same thing. She started with a 103.00 fever on Friday this past week and went 3 more days with the same. Went to doctor on Saturday and he said that it looks like she has the flu. Her eyes were puffy and watery and swollen and purple eye lids. She continues to not have much of an appetite and so I took her back to the doctor today. What startled me was that the fever went to 104.00 this morning and went down with motrin. So he did a urine test for UTI and outruled that and also strep. He also thought that on Saturday after seeing her that she had the flu and today he said that isn't the case. I am left hanging and waiting to make sure that she isn't going to continue with this fever and to call doctor back in days to let him know how she is doing. They are going to culture her urine but I am still wondering if she needs more tests that a hospital can give. I am freaking out about encephalitis.
