| mY 5 YEAR OLD SAYS HIS PENIS ITCH AND HE WANTS TO TOUCH IT...IT LOOKS LIKE HE HAS BE SCRATCHING IT AND I SEE FLAKING. HE THEN SAYS IT DOESNT ITCH OR HURT AND HE JUST WANTS TO TOUCH IT. HE DOES HAS SPOTS OF ECXEMA ON HIM, OTHER PARTS OF HIS BODY. COULD IT BE ON HIS PENIS? COULD IT JUST BE DRY SKIN? COULD HE JUST BE CURIOUS? SHOULD I PUT ANYTHING ON IT? LIKE AQUAPHOR? |

My son too has been paying more attention to his penis lately. I try not to make a big deal out of it. I have been matter of fact with him. So when he points out to me that his penis "is tall" or "won't go down", simply say, "yup. It's an erection." and then I say nothing else and we continue reading or whatever.
My son suffered from sensitive skin as a baby, but has not had much trouble for a few years. Lately, he has been very itchy and can't help scratching his stomach and back. It could just be heat rash, or a reaction to the hot summer weather. I'm hoping that's all it is, and that with cooler weather, the itchy skin will go away. |
