Hi. I am a 31 years old man and my ten year old kid wants to run 5 km marathon. Do you think that maybe that is too much for him? I don't know, he isn't training anything, so I don't think he can do it (without giving up – or dieing trying). Do you think it is ok for him to run such long distance, any advice about it?

I know a good idea. Why don't you go with your kid to run? If he really gets tired you can always reward him for trying. Plus that way he can't overwork himself, because you will be there to supervise him. Five kilometers isn't really such a big distance. If he doesn't want to be first, he shouldn't have any problems finishing the race. He is young, you know! Good luck with the marathon!
