5yr old boy getting erections

HI, I have a five year old boy who is in every way developing normally. Except for one thing. Recently, I have noticed his growing interest in sex. He started getting erections and touching himself. Please tell me why this is happening and how can I stop it. I am very worried.

Hi, I am a mother myself so I know what it feels like to worry about a child. In your case there is nothing to worry about. Your son is developing just fine. I remember when my son was five. He was very curious about his body and the bodies of his friends. I used to catch him playing doctor with my neighbor's also five year old daughter. What is important is that you don't overreact when you catch him doing something like that. I found that the best reaction is a calm one. There are many books about these topics that are suitable for your son's generation. Also talking with him the next time you catch him doing something similar might help.
