|

Hi,
I also had uterine ablation done in september of 2007. It is 8 months later and I am 12 pounds heavier. I have been dieting and working out so I know I really tried to get this off and it won't come off. My stomach is a balloon. I am always swollen in my middle section. I don't even know what it feels like to have a waist. I am not big to begin with but I can never wear anything fitted now and have to wear long tops since nothing fits in the waist. This is very strange because I have never had this problem before. I could lose if i needed to by diet and exercise. Noone seems to talk about weight gain but I know there must be many other women experiencing it. I still have pelvic pain too on top of it. Periods have not returned but I almost felt better knowing when the week was over I would have a few weeks of feeling okay. Is anyone else going through this? They need to do much more research and have more info available to women before deciding to do this. If this continues I am almost tempted to just have my uterus removed nad have a tummy tuck since i have tried everything and am tired of it all. Any comment would be appreciated. thanks |

| hello everyone! i had Novasure done Dec. 7, 2007. doc said he was sure he "got everything" because i have a small uterus. i had actually started my period the morning of the proceedure and when i got home that day i had nothing more than a faint oozing for the following few days. until mid-march 2008 i hadn't had so much as one tinge of PMS or blood. then after sex one day (sorry ladies) i had some watery/oozy/bloody spotting. it was short lived. WIERD! then in April I had some light cramps and more of the same spotting after sex again! i noticed this time about 4 weeks had passed since the last episode so i just figured it was my cycle starting again. when May came around i started a light period (no sex involved) which, for the first time, required i wear a panty liner. cramping was a bit more. June rolled around and cramping was a bit more (still NOTHING compared to what i experienced before the proceedure) and i needed a panty-liner for about 2 days. now it's July and I'm wondering what this month has in store for me! |

I eat well, and exercise daily with little result in a weight drop.I have not weighed this amount since I was five months pregnant. My children are now in their twenties. I also noticed a very heavy tummy pouch that appeared soon after and won't drop. This February (2008) I began having a heavy flow, much bloating as well as excruciating cramping that is more frequent and longer lasting. I have been told I am fine too. By fluke today I typed in ablation. It is good to know I am not just being a wenie but other women who have had an ablation are experiencing the same thing. It was supposed to help but has made life feel like one constant labor pain. |
Update: last week the ovulation pain was so intense it felt like my last hours in labor, as if the muscles in my back were being pulled apart and my ovaries were about to explode while "everything else" (ahem..) felt like it was just swelling.I have never in my life felt pain like that and not been in labor. After the second day of continued pain I sought my gyn doctor for answers and relief. I mentioned that the pain has increased more over time since the ablation, but was told that was not possible. Needless to say I am now set up for a laproscopy and possible total hysterectomy. |

| I'm 43, had an ablation in June 2008. Thought it would be great. The thought of no periods....fantastic and so far, so good....no period! But the downfall is my sex drive among other things. I've changed. I'm moody, I've lost some of my patience with my family and I too am struggling with losing some weight. I think my husband wishes I didn't get the procedure. Is this temporary? I hope so....help! |

| I had my NovaSure (I think that's the right name) surgery in Dec of 2006 and I'm going on almost 2 years period-free, no cramps, no problems. I just lucked out that is what my doctor recommended, but you might want to ask for the same if you are thinking about having this done. I don't have any relevant weight loss/gain information. |

| I had an ablation done in Jan of 2007, over the last six months have had severe cramping to the point of having to go to the ER and missed days at work. The bleeding is not that bad but pain is very bad. Doctors can't seem to find anything wrong, small fibroids but don't have an answer for me. How have you been and any answers yet? |

Hey ladies, I am reading this blog trying to see if there is a correlation to my new migraines and my ablation/tubal ligation. I had both done at the same time March 2008, and so far have found it a fantastic experience.
Recently, I began having migraines. I went to the doctor and she gave me medicine for them, but couldn't find a reason why I was getting them. She suggested I see my eye doctor, even though I had just gone (also in March). I went to the eye doctor and my vision had changed, and they worried about diabetes, which I don't have. So I have my vision corrected and thought I would be good to go, but now, I am back to another migraine. I experience a lot of lathargy when I get my migraines, but other than the surgery, I don't know what else could be causing them.
Seems from all the blogs I have read that it is probable that my migraines are related to my surgery. I can deal with some migraines as long as I don't have to deal with my painful messy menstral. I am happy with my results and have been 100% period/blood/spotting free since the day of my surgery. |
