I want to start having the therapy because of the terrible problems I have with my skin. I could not solve it with tetracyclines, and I have even tried with metrol gel that is used for rosacea. I have heard that spironolactone can be very effective, but I have also heard for accutane, from a friend that used it few years ago. So, now I need an advice, which one to use. Spironolactone vs. accutane? Have you heard about the side effects of these medications, are they more exposed in females? Thanks.

Well, I am not that sure that you should make the decision on you own, without professional advice. As I know, the side effects that can be caused by accutane are quite minor. Accutane can cause the sense of dry lips and few aches, but it also does not have to mean that it would be from help. I have also heard that spironolactone can be used as the therapy of acne, but as controlled therapy because it has other effects in the organism that can be harmful. And also is not used as monotherapy, but with antibiotics.
