My brother had problems with stomach. He defecated frequently. In the start, we all though of a stomach virus, but since it lasted longer than few days, and number of defecations increased too, he went to a doctor who told him he has Crohns disease. He got his meds, including Azulfidine. Can you tell me something about Azulffidine (Sulfasalazine) common usage!

Azulfidine has the basic role in the therapy of ulcerative colitis, Crohns disease, proctocolitis This drug inhibits certain enzymes and prevents the creation of leukotriens that are engaged in the process of inflammation. It acts antiinflammative in the colon, thus preventing the inflammation which is auto immune in the case of Chrons disease.
