Hello. Just recently I have noticed that I have problems with normal vision and of course, I contacted my ophthalmologist immediately.
He determined that I have developed some mild diopter and that I need to wear glasses or lenses.
I decided to start wearing contact lenses because I'm just not a kind of guy who would wear glasses. But I have heard that this way- I can catch some infections much more easily!
I especially mean some Acanthamoeba infection because I have heard a lot of nasty stuff about it. Can someone tell me more about this problem!

Well, I don’t know what to say about all this. You are right about one thing- infections you’ve mentioned are very common among people who wear contact lenses.
Eye infections result from contact lens cases becoming contaminated after improper cleaning. Acanthamoeba is one microscopic ameba that can cause eye infections.
Luckily- eye and skin infections are generally treatable and you don’t have to worry about them that much!
All this can be avoided! You must use commercially prepared contact lens cleaning solution and not some home made lotions.
Always keep your hands clean!
