Hi! I’m 19 year old and have acne problem all over my body. I mean I don’t have acne all the time for I’m on minocin 2 pills a day for almost two years now. But also it is often happening that my acne return and do you think that during this period I could take accutane while on minocin. Actually I’ve heard recently that accutane is so good on treating acne so I’d like to try it if it is possible in combination with minocin.
Well, accutane treatment is good in cleaning the skin from acne that’s for sure but taking accutane with some other drugs might trigger some serious side effects that might cause worsening of your health condition. If you take accutane while on minocin you might increase the chances of getting accutane side effects more easily and one of the most dangerous side affects of accutane while on minocin might be brain swelling. On the other word you might duplicate side effects and on the other hand taking accutane treatment may reduce the effectiveness of the minocin. So there’s no reason for taking them both at the same time. If you really want to try with accutane treatment than my advice would be to take accutane after stopping minocin and then after your skin is clear and it might last up to 4 months than you can get back on minocin.
