Hi, Im a 19 year old male, Ever since I was around 13 I've had this mass/growth/cyst whatever it is on the top of my right testicle. It's strange because I have no pain but when I touch it feels tender. I also sometimes have this slight discomfort in my right knee and upper leg. Im soo worried right. I'm very scared because I've had this for soo long now and barely starting to freak out about it. It hasnt grown to my knowledge but it tworries me soo much. I went to my doctor about two years ago and he examined me and said that he couldnt feel anything abnormal. Its weird because only when the sack is relaxed is when you can see and feel it. I played sports when I was younger and remember long ago getting a helmet to the growing area and being in soo much pain for awhile. Please someone help me, Im living scared of what it could be and worried to see my doctor. Crying or Very sad

I am 16 and I too have a small cyst on top of my right testicle. It is about the size of a pea, but don't worry, the docs took a look at it and said it was some really long word which is just an overactive gland or something. It is not cancerous!
I also have a varicocele above my right testicle, and have had some aching pain associated with that, but not frequently. This week i began feeling constant aching on my left testicle, and sometimes my quadricep and lower abdomen would ache also. I thought it was the varicocele but that doesn't cause aching every night. It only aches at night, during the day it is fine, but my lower abdomen is uncomfortable sometimes and I don't really know how to describe it. At night when I wake up because the pain is too much, I take a pee and it actually helps some and it doesn't ache as much.
Somebody figure this out yo

It is interesting that with so many posts of this problem no one has found a solutions or at least has not come back here to post thier findings. I am 51 and had a very sharp pain in my right testicale last night while driving. It seems to be definately related to position whee I do not have any pain standing but when I sit normaly the pain builds untill I have to move my position. No pain when I stand. I am physically very fit, my BMI (Body Mass Index) is 22, I have lost 35 pounds over the past 7 months, work out regularly so this is not a weight issue. This morning the pain persists. I was hoping that it would pass overnight. I had a particularly strenuous workout yesterday so I'm hoping it may be just something to relate with that. If it gets worse or persists I will definitely see my doctor but I am hoping that it is nothing of any consequence.

Just google 'sciatica + left testicle pain'. It will come up with a lot of matches and should shed some light on the issue. I have the same pain at the moment and started googling away. I searched sciatica with the left testicle pain because for months now I have had the tingling, tight sensation at a number of points from the lower back and upper hip right down to my toes. I thought the testicle pain could be related and judging by all the hits it may be - I hope this helps.

Google 'testicle pain + sciatica' and you should get a lot of matches. I have the same pain at the moment and thought it might be linked with sciatica as I had the tingling, tight sensation at different points all along my left side; from the lower back and above the hip bone right down to the toes. Tight glutes, tight piriformis, tight hamstrings, tingling foot, tight lower back...the list goes on. Then I began to feel the pain in my left testicle and thought it might be an extension of the sciatic problem. Judging by the hits from the 'testicle pain + sciatica' search, I think it might be. Obviously go see someone you trust before quoting me but the little research I've done on this seems to link the testes pain to sciatica - in some cases.

Hope this helps.

Hear is my story... Back in 1996 I racked my self hopping over a wall while playing paint ball. Since that day my right testicle has not been the same. There is no swelling, sex is great, no burning when I urinate, and I can still masterbate, but my right testicle fells like some thing is pull on it from the inside, I get a burning sensation all the way down my right leg. This happened in college so at the time I was not over weight and I did not have health insurance to see a doctor. So I dealt with he constant paid some days better than others and over time I was able to put the pain in the back of my head and forget about it. It did flare up when sitting for long periods of time (car rides and air travel being the worst). It constantly feels as if my right sac is sticking to my leg and the pain is briefly relieved when I adjust my self.
Anyway... A year later, after I got my first job I went to the doctor and the rollercoaster ride started.
The family practice doctor sent me off to the orthopedic doctors... they did x-rays and had me do a series of exercises and said nothing is wrong.
They sent me off to the neurologist (this was fun - NOT!!). My first test was an EMG. This is wear I was shocked with electric probes in my groin and up and down my leg measuring the response time for my nervous system to respond. No abnormalities found. The next part was the muscle test where they jabbed my groin and leg with needles which measured sound waves. No muscle related issue were found.
I was then sent for an MRI of my hip, which showed no abnormalities.
My general doctor then sent me to a urologist. He put me on some anti inflammatory medication and when that did not help he felt my sac and said I had a hernia so it was off the the general surgeon. His exam was 2 minutes and said the urologist was incorrect and I did not have a hernia.
I then went back to the neurologist and on some medication which did not help. They then sent me to have some trigger point injections and that did not help. They ruled out the sciatic nerve and I was sent to U of I medical center where a team of doctors did several exploratory surgeries where they went in with a camera and made a cut just past my anus and tried to find the nerve that was sending the pain to my brain and disable it. Those procedures did not work.
I then went to aqua therapy for 4 months and even tried acupuncture.
After 2 and 1/2 years of treatment, medical bills, gaining 20 pounds, my general practice doctor put me on Paxil, which is anxiety medication. This helped me put the pain to the back of my head and forget about it. The pain was still constant and it would still flare when sitting for log periods of time, but I was able to deal. 13 years later I still have the pain and it has just gotten worse these past months, not sure if it was because I stopped taking Paxil a year ago or the crapy weather we are having. I am now considering going to my new doctor and starting the entire medical process all over again. Before I go that route I decided to use a tool that was not that developed back when I started this adventure... the internet! It's great to know I am not the only one out there with this problem. I really think my case is that some nerve attached to my testicle got kinked or twisted, but who knows. I will continue to check back to see if other have found the cure and I will certainly post any new findings I encounter. Thanks for letting me vent. - Jason

Well this is a very interesting thread...

For a couple years I've had very similar symptoms to most of you. In particular, a poster on the previous page mentioned how he had a feeling of tightness (feels like the testicle is being pulled up from within the abdomen). I also have this feeling and relaxing the muscles in this area will often return the testicle to its normal "hanging" position - which also alleviates most of the pain/discomfort. For me, my testicle will actually change shape and size drastically within a short period of time (minutes, hours), almost entirely depending on how high it's raised (or when I have this 'tightness'). The cord (I guess it's the spermatic cord??) also becomes quite enlarged and uncomfortable at times - and is almost always much larger than on the left side. After a long period of rest (putting feet up, sleeping, etc), the symptoms are much less severe.

This had me worried for a long time... went from thinking it could be varicocele to cancer to a hernia. I mentioned it to my doctor but he pretty much shrugged it off. Varicocele seems questionable since it's almost always left-sided. The "come-and-go" nature of this, and lack of any real bumps (aside from occasional tender enlargements of the epidiymus head/tail) probably rules out cancer. My doc did a hernia test which didn't raise any alarms... if it is hernia I guess it's not very severe. So I basically have no clue what it could be... maybe it's just something some guys have to live with (maybe lifestyle related)??

I did gain a "little" weight over the past few years... nothing drastic, but I do weigh more than I have before. I also sit in a chair all day at work, and a lot when I'm at home as well, which seems to be a pretty common occurance with people here.

I'm 49 male and took a job that requires me to SIT for 6 or 7 hours and I started to have pain in my right testicle. I thought "O Lord could I have cancer???". Then I went to the doctor had a sonogram done and nothing other than the Doctor told me to wear looser clothing and GET UP AND WALK around every I chance I got and drink plenty of fluids...No coffee or tea, but water or fruit juice. He also told me to try to stand while doing my work and that worked! He was correct. The pain started to go away and the pain in my leg subsided. He says he had the same thing happen to him in college. I don't like going to the doctor but if you have any pain in that part of your body GO TO THE DOCTOR! Yeah it's scary and all but that's what they are there for. Your not being weird for going to the doctor for pain or sickness! If you don't like one doctor go to another. Get treatment and help yourself instead of living in fear. It's your body and it deserves the care!

Hi, all... i posted a few topics ahead, i have been seeing my doctor and found out it is epiditimitis and it was cause unsexually by having a small hole in my urinary tracked that got into my sperm ducts... alot of you may be having the same problem... if you have got tested for a STD an it came back negative this could be the case.

Hey, guys

I'll soon be 22, I have the same problems. The pain in my left testicle started in Dec 07 - Jan 08. I've been having it on and off since. I noticed that at times I would forget about it, but then it's like it comes back briefly just to remind me it's there. Jan 08 was the worst. I kept feeling the testicle pain for most of the time, and there were no changes depending on position or movement - I'd feel the same pain lying down on both sides, or just walking outside. One night it even woke me up, but I'm not sure how much this had to do with the actual pain, and how much with my state of mind as I was worried and thinking about it. After a while, it stopped. Since then I've been having it on and off, sometimes I would really feel it, and at times it would be a mild feeling that I can't really call pain.

The reason I googled this, and thankfully found this board, is that it has started radiating down my left leg. When that began, I also felt pain in my left butt cheek, but that went away. Now the leg pain also went away and I just feel slight, very weak occassional pain in my left testicle (to be accurate, in a vein going through my scrotum that is pallpable), and the feeling in my leg isn't pain anymore. Now it's just mild sensations, sometimes I feel as if the leg has been overstretched, sometimes it's just a weird sensation like that cold wave you feel after you shake the numbness off. I feel it throughout the entire left leg, but never in two places at a time. It can be in the knee, the back of the knee, the foot, even in my toes.

What makes me feel relieved is that I'm not alone, I read all of your replies here and it's good to see that it isn't so bad. I was particularly relieved to see that some have been having it for years, because in my case I was worried maybe I had waited too long (a year and a half).

So the possible verdicts are - nothing, varicocele, epididymitis... I suspected varicocele before I found this place. It's in my left testi and varicocele is usually on the left. The symptomes match, only they don't mention any leg sensations. As for epididymitis, seems like a number of people on here were diagnosed with it.

Something that may have to do with this is sex/masturbation. I masturbate daily, and I have been having regular sex with my gf. I noticed this started coming up more as the sex become more intense.

Whatever, I'm finally seeing my doctor tomorrow. I was worried, but not so much anymore. I have no problem with this going on for 50 more years, because I can take it and it isn't that sharp anyways. I just hope it isn't anything serious, or the beginning of a serious condition. So long as I know that my life isn't in danger, it's all good.

This forum helped a lot. It's good to share experiences like this. Although I see the latest post came a month ago, I will update this tomorrow with my doc's findings. I know this forum will help ease the mind of other men who will be experiencing this, so I'm going to follow this up with whatever I can. More to come as I finally get myself checked up.

So here's my follow-up. I've been to the doc's, and it's all fine.

He said a lot of medical stuff, but from what I gathered it's a normal condition, caused by a lot of sitting down, so I should get out more, walk or run, basically just work out and play a sport. He explained the leg as a sports injury, I'm not very active in that department but I play ocassionally and if I'm not fully prepared I can pull something, so...

All in all, whoever has these symptoms is most probably okay, like most of the guys on this forum. The doc mentioned something about a hole somewhere, I guess it's the thingy the guy above me wrote about.

It's all good. Definitely go have a check-up just for the doctor to rule out anything serious. If something is really going on, he will notice it, but in most cases it isn't.

Stay well, fellas.
