Hello, I am 19 years old guy and I am worried about my father. Recently he has been diagnosed for Acromegaly. I heard that this is serious condition and I want to know what can be done about Acromegaly. If there is someone experience, I would be glad to listen what he has to say about the condition. Thank you all in advance. I am eager to hear your answers.

Hi there, as you already know this condition is serious. But if it has been discovered in early phase then it is treatable. The biggest problem is to detect it in the early phase. If it is not detected in time it may even cause premature death. To cut to the chase it may be treated by surgery, radiation or even drugs. My mother had a surgery and she is fine now. But doctors monitor her health regularly. Bromocriptine and Ocreotide are two medications which can be efficient in treating the disease. Radiation treatment can be used after surgery.
