How about instead of depending on weight loss drugs or side effects you spend a few dollars on a gym membership and get off the couch. A side effect of MOVING is weight loss.

Ok so I'm a nurse and also diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and was prescribed adderal to compensate for my lack of energy. Adderall definitely worked to produce more energy but at the same time suppress my appetite. I lost 15lbs in the first 2-3 wks but I literally could go days without eating anything and therefore defeated the purpose of the adderall. I can't knock anyone on here who is desperately trying to lose weight b/c I had stopped the adderall for 4 or 5 months and gained those 20lbs back quicker then I lost them. Adderall is a methamphetamine and hense the nick name "speed" it gives a euphoric feeling, makes u happy and even more confident. So therefore if u can tolerate the shakey feeling it give u and don't mind never sleeping then go for. It is a narcotic and if abused can be very dangerous. The lose of appetite is great for shedding the pounds but it can shut the body down. There are 2 types of adderall, the plain and xr(extended release) n I disagree that 20mg in the morning can last all day because it doesn't for me. I currently take 20mg in the am and 45mg afternoon. Apparently it works differently for everyone

I am on adderall for weight loss and energy. I have sleep apnea and have trouble functioning during the day so they've put me on the adderall (after trying other adhd meds) because my insurance will cover it, AND IT WORKS!

I have ADHD. I was just recently put on adderall again. It makes me prone to being hyper-agitated. Sure you lose weight, but adderall is a very strong med. I can feel 20mg for 2 days. Seriously tho, diet and exercise IS the best way to lose weight. Buy a quality bicycle, (one you CAN'T buy @ target or Wal-Mart.) I have no car, so I bicycle everywhere I go, and, I find that the exercise keeps me toned as well as aerobic. What good is weight loss when you are not tone?
Diet and exercise, diet and exercise, that's the recipe for sustained weight loss. Have you tried that product ALLI? I've heard it works. But adderall for a weight problem is NOT your answer. It is a medication for ADHD and ADD. Ride a bike, save money on gas, lose weight, tone, and be green all at once. good luck.

I have taken them separately and together.
The Adderall was great. I experienced no adverse side effects upon innitially taking it, and I experienced no withdrawal upon having to stop taking it suddenly. The Lexparo, at first, hit me light a freight train. I had to go take a nap not long after I took the first pill. After the few days on it though, I didn't even notice a difference, but my husband did. He said It was good to have the old "love possum" back. =). Also, the combination of Lexapro and Adderall while I was taking both was fine. I took the Adderall in the morning, and the Lexapro before I went to bed. The combination made me feel more, "level" as I like to put it than I had in years. I felt Great. (AND I TOOK THEM AS THEY WERE PERSCRIBED. I DID NOT ABUSE THEM) However, When I had to stop taking the Lexapro suddenly the withdrawal was HORRIBLE. I felt sick to my stomach. I had mood swings. I had the most intense dizzy spells. The fear of having to SUDDENLY stop taking the Lexapro and the insuing withdrawal is enough to make me never want to take Lexapro again. I hope this helps. Rolling Eyes
