Hi, I have obesity problem and want to take Adipex therapy, since a friend of mine had great results. I have high blood pressure and arthrosclerosis, and take furosemide and nifedipine to control it. Is it safe to take Adipex with these drugs?

Hi, I have used Adipex to control weight, but it is not suitable for you, if you have high blood pressure. Adipex is a sympathomimetic amine, and it’s action is similar to an amphetamine. Adipex has so called "anorexigenic" effect. Adipex stimulates the central nervous system, nerves and brain. If you suffer from any heart disorder you should also take into account that Adipex increases heart rate. Although, it will decrease your appetite, you need to exercise to additionally lose fat and pounds. You can consider life style changes and diet plan to permanently achieve and maintain healthy weight and this can effect your blood pressure. You should avoid salt and products containing sodium since they aggravate high blood pressure, take fiber rich food to lower calorie intake and reduce fats specially saturated animal fats.

Hi, I used Adipex for about two months and it did nothing for me. In fact the second month I gained 1 1/2 lbs. I told my doctor and he said that it is not for every one so I am no longer taking it. He said to wait about a month or two and then try it again. If after I try it again if it doesn't work for me I will just keep on trying myself with eating right and going to the gym. I also have high blood prusser but it is under control and was never really real high.
