Hi
Is there an established link between cases of bacterial tonsilitis and poor air quality?
I've been living in a major city in a developing nation for 10 months. The city has severe pollution problems. I also work in an industrial environment where sandblasting and paint-spraying, with the associated airborne pollutants, is ongoing most of the time. I wear a protective face mask but cannot wear this all the time.
In 10 months I have had 5 cases of bacterial tonsilitis. Prior to moving here I had no problems with my tonsils at all.
My doctor says that pollution is a major factor, I was looking for any evidence, or personal experience to add to this, because I'm hoping that removal of myself from the environment will solve the problem.
