Hello,
We had a party last nigh. This morning my roommate woke me up saying she feels horrible pain around her belly button and she vomited. First we thought it was because of alcohol, but then these symptoms didn’t stop and pain spread to her lower abdomen. I think it is acute appendicitis. She is 23. Isn’t appendix most common with kids? Did she get an attack because of alcohol?

Appendix is not common just for kids, it is common for age from 10 to 30.
Maybe alcohol just stimulated attack, but I think that rare alcohol drinking could not cause appendix attack, while regular abuse most definitely could. I would be best to take her to hospital and let doctors take care of her. Maybe this is just an attack, and she’ll be sent home tomorrow, maybe she’ll have to undergo surgery.
Take her to hospital, anyhow and at least let doctors exam her.
