Hi. I`m planning to go climbing this weekend, but I suffer form altitude sickness. At higher altitudes of 11000ft (and above) I feel sick and my head hurts. Sometimes I vomit. How to prevent altitude sickness?

Hi. Altitude sickness, better known as mountain sickness, is caused by going too high, too fast. I suffer from mountain sickness too and you must move slowly, to give your body time to adapt to the altitude change. I always take Acetazolamide, and you can try Dexamethasone as well. I take one pill a day before I go to altitude. However, Acetazolamide is making me feel tingling, but I can`t take Dexamethasone because it makes me feel very depressed.
