We’ve been taking care of grandpa since grandma died. He is not well at all. It’s been a year since he has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. We are all trying our best to take care of him, but it is difficult. My parents have to work all the time and I am only half day free because of the school. I think that we need to take him to some help organization. Can someone give me some information about Alzheimer's help organizations? Thank you.

I understand that Family members and others who care for victims of Alzheimer's disease often are hit very hard themselves by the effects of the disease. Many families have regular meetings to organize the care giving burden. However, persons who care for victims of Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia have many needs themselves, like the need for education or training, for emotional support, for short-term or extended respite, and for financial assistance. There are many organizations that you can refer to. I’ll write you a list of possible places that you can ask for help: your local office for the aging will help you obtain information about a wide range of services, also Caregiver Resource Centers, local services, Home Care services, Respite care, Nursing Home Care, skilled nursing facilities, health related facilities and The Alzheimer's Association –ADRDA.
