Am I At Risk of developing cervical cancer?

Hi, my mother had ovarian cancer and I have some cysts from time to time. Am I at risk for developing ovarian cancer?

Hi, actually you are at risk since you are her daughter. Children by inheriting certain genes get predisposition to developing conditions for occurrence of malignant changes. But, not all children inherit the same genes, and even if they do, a lot can be done by changing life conditions. You live in much more polluted environment then your mother did, but you can have better and more balanced nutrition and check your health regularly. it is advised to perform Pap test more frequently, at least once a year. So, you can notice any changes at time and react properly.
