Could i be suffering from anxiety and not know it? For a few weeks now I have been having fluttering heartbeats and actually skipped heart beats. I thought at first it was because I was on dayquil and nyquil all the time for a cold and it was the pseudophedrine. So i went off and the skipping went away for a week or so. They came back a few days ago though. It's when I first wake up until about 10 or so (or it seems until my body is FULLY awake) and then they don't come back until later afternoon or evening. I don't ever feel dizzy or light headed, I can just feel my heart skip beats. The most that happens is that I will have to cough after a missed beat because I feel like I lost that breath. It's usually just the uneasy feeling that I hate. When it does happen it lasts for hours usually with my heart going back and forth between good and bad. In september i was diagnosed with mild gastritis and have been on liquid carafate for that. I'm also on nasonex and i take an otc allergy pill. Could it be any of my meds or could I be suffering from anxiety and not know it, or could it be something serious? I just don't have any other symptoms to make it seem serious. I am stressed all the time. I work 3 jobs and just got done with school full time for the semester. My mom was also in a really bad accident in october, so it's been stressful few months. If someone could please let me know. Thanks!!!
It could be anxiety related but I would get checked out by a physician to rule out any physical causes first and be sure to mention everything that was in your note here to the physician when you get checked out.
It could be anxiety. I went through something similar... I was experiencing the sensation of my heart skipping beats and racing. I even occasionally went through dizzy spells. I saw a cardiologist who recorded my EKG via a Holter monitor for 24 hrs and I pressed a button every time I felt my heart race or skipped beats. When he got the results my EKG was completely normal and there was absolutely no change when I thought I was feeling something! I was convinced I was off my rocker, but he explained to me that a lot of people experience this... Also, your abdominal symptoms might have something to do with axiety...
