This is my personal experience to the reactions of Amoxicillin, but there is more to it than that so continue reading! Last year about in late September, I had swollen lymph nodes so I was prescribed Amoxicillin. After the first few days I broke out into an itchy rash which in turn diagnosed my mono. Its common for this reaction to occur as many of you who have done little research know. The rash lasted about 4 days. Recently, I got my wisdom teeth pulled and was given amoxicillin for an antibiotic. Since I got a reaction only when I had mono they gave me the perscription anyway. After the first day I was starting to become itchy. Mostly on my penis, scrotum, elbows, legs, and forearm. It continued to be itchy yet show no signs of a rash until the 4th day. On the 4th day a small rash broke out mainly on my forearm and hands. The next couple of days showed a rash where I itched a lot (ie: forearm, legs, hand) but not on my penis, scrotum, and elbow..where I seemed to itch the most in the beginning. The itchy feeling is gone in my elbow, penis and scrotum but now the skin is very dry. I assume this is due to me scratching it alot before and nothing serious? I stopped using Amoxicillin immediately on the 4th day. It is now the 3rd day AFTER stopping medication and I have seen no decrease in the rash. Its very noticeable on my legs in any temperature but very noticeable everywhere else in the heat.

Is the very dry skin on my foreskin and elbow due to the excessive scratching days before the rash broke out? Or could it be something serious?
