Hi, my husband has anxiety about death, as he is growing older. I would like to help him on this matter, but I just don’t know what approach to take. If I say something he just doesn’t listen and wouldn’t listen to what anyone says, his fear is so big.

It is not easy to deal with death acceptance, specially as person gets closer to it with aging or some disease. But also, death acceptance is not necessarily the opposite of death anxiety, because these to coexist in same person at the same time. I suppose your husband belongs to the category of "death denial" , not willing even to think of it or talk. But, eventually when faced with it he back off, since he didn’t learned to deal with it. Maybe practicing some religion could help him to learn a given pattern of dealing with death issue. It is said that women are more death- anxious.
