I'm having a hard time with this forum thing...lol..I posted this in the wrong one first...however..

I think I may have made a big mistake. I'm 38 years old and have been off the pill for 8 years. My husband and I are going on our first ever vacation without the kids in August however it is scheduled right when my period was due.

I went to the doctor because I've heard if you go on the pill you can skip one. My doctor put me on Alesse and instructed me to start the first pill the first day my period started, which I did....but now my period won't stop!...It's been 9 days (when it is usually 5 max), I'm depressed and anxious, bloated and I just want it to stop.

My question is if I just stop after being on for 8 days what can I expect? Will I just continue on another cycle of my period? I wonder if I screwed my system up for months now? Now this weekend I have to go away too and if I stop now will my period get heavier?

Help! I need some advice. Should I continue or can I quit now without too many complications?
