Hello, my friends. My little brother is allergic to insect stings. I wonder if there is any effective drug if stings occur. He should go to some picnic and I am afraid for him because of this allergy of his. Can anyone help me with my question? I would appreciate it.

Hello. The most important thing in treatment is epinephrine. It can be life saving. H1 antihistamines are also helpful. Benadryl is from this group. It relieves symptoms like itching. Corticosteroids like prednisone are also recommended. They suppress immune response, but decrease swelling as well. I hope this will help you. Bye!
