Anyone every have their sebaceous prominences removed?

I have a handful of small sebaceous prominences which I really want to get rid of. I know the only real way to get rid of them is to have a doctor (or yourself if you're crazy enough) slice it open with a scalple and drain it. I was wondering if anyone has had this procedure done and had any success? Are dermatologists willing to do it or will they just say "it's normal, live with it"?
