Hi, I am a 56 year old man who needs a prostate biopsy. Maybe I really do not need such thing but my doctor is convinced that I must do that. He is suspecting a prostate tumor or infection or increased size of it for any reason. So, biopsy is expecting me and I am not sure with what am I dealing with. Do you know anything about this?

Yes, I had prostate biopsy and surgery after it so I think that I can give you proper information about the matter. For prostate biopsy is used only local anesthesia. Whole procedure is done throw the rectum. All this seem embarrassing but when you need to do it you just need. It is your life depending of the results of the biopsy.
