Hi. Prostatitis is the most common prostate problem in men under 50. Prostatitis means your prostate is inflamed. It is probably swollen and red. Symptoms of prostatitis include UTI-like symptoms, such as pain when urinating and a frequent urge to pee. Some people experience fever. If your prostatitis is cause by bacteria, it means you have bacterial prostatitis. In that case, antibiotics should help you fight the bacteria. However, if the infection returns, you may have a defect in your prostate. In that case, surgery is required. Antibiotics can`t treat non-bacterial prostatitis.
