Hello, I need some help for my mother. She is 59 years old and has been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. She has already received a tone of doctor’s advices regarding her future lifestyle and among several medications, there is one I haven’t heard of. Did anyone use Thiazolidinediones for diabetes?

I have heard only several facts about its mechanism. It is supposed to decrease the resistance of insulin and at the same time also decreases the risk factors for some cardiovascular disease, which are common for type 2 diabetes patients. Of course there is still that problem regarding the long term consequences, which are unknown for now because this is a fairly new medication.
