My 16 year old son had a head injury last week and he is ok now, but just to make sure everything is ok he went to MRI and all it turned out he has arachnoid cyst. All these years he felt ok he plays basketball also without any problem. So what could be the aracnoid cyst symptoms and how it is treated and now when he was found out to have it is there any good aracnoid cyst surgery?

Yes there’re I think two types of aracnoid cyst surgery but they are not necessary in every case of this disease. I had a car accident four years ago and head scanner had shown it caused me having this Arachnoid Cyst but still I haven’t had any surgery. I also live without any symptoms related to arachnoid cyst: headache, vomiting, nausea, hearing and visual difficulties and balance and walking trouble. The fact is that my Arachnoid Cyst is small and located in some place near brain and spinal cord area where it doesn’t still makes me any problem. Anyway besides that it is not pleasant living with knowledge you have some cyst near your brain so I seriously am considering the possibility of having the Arachnoid Cyst surgery that is not much invasive actually there’re nowdays some micro neurosurgical techniques and some precise endoscopic tools that may drain the fluid out of the cyst and let her mix with cerebrospinal fluid where finally it would be absorbed. I want to do that despite the fact that I still don’t have any symptoms but am aware of the fact that one day Arachnoid Cyst may grow bigger and compress and squeeze the nerves around my spinal cord and the result might be back and leg pain followed by tingling and numbness and I sure don’t want it.
