Are Anxiety and OCD similar?

Hi, my sister is 22 years old and she is suffering from anxiety for several months. It started after she has car accident and since then it lasts constantly. My very good friend told me that he was in position to meet people who are acting very similar to my sister but they suffered from obsessive compulsive disorder. Now I am in dilemma if these disorders are similar.

Hi, patients who are suffering from anxiety and OCD have one similarity and it is fear that something bad may happen to them. Patient who suffers from anxiety is afraid and depressive and may express his condition trough attacks of panic. On the other side OCD patient has similar feeling of fear but he is trying to prevent it by repeating some gesture continuously. In this way he is coping with his fear.
