Hi, I have been having trouble sleeping for the last couple of weeks. I think this has happened because I have been under a lot of stress lately. That is why I dont want to go to the doctors, but am thinking about some kind of over the counter sleeping pills. What I am wondering about is, are these OTC sleeping pills dangerous in any way? How can I choose the best one for me?

Hi, I know exactly what you are talking about. When I changed my job and had to move to another town I also had trouble sleeping. This was a big change for me and I just couldnt deal with the stress. My friend from back home told me to try some over the counter sleeping pills. I have tried some pills with valerian root as a main ingredient. It didnt help me to fall asleep. I felt sort of numb as I lied in bed, but I was still awake. There were some other pills my friend suggested, but I was so hung over in the morning that I couldnt function properly in any case. This is why I have decided to talk to a doctor about my problem. And this is what you should also do. Even though these sleeping pills are sold without prescription they are still drugs and you shouldnt do anything without consulting with a professional first. I am sure that the doctor will give you a proper advice about the best sleeping pill for you.
