Are bladder stones causing blood in the urine?

Hi! Please, can somebody tell me Are bladder stones causing blood in the urine? My brother has strong pain in his stomach and also he feels certain discomfort in the penis. Now he noticed that his urine is red. I know that stone in kidney may cause blood in the urine, but is it common for bladder stone too? Thanks!

Yes! Of course! Blood in the urine is one of the main symptoms of bladder stones. Tell your brother to go to doctor. He will need to do some tests, probably urine culture. If he has a small stone he would not need some special medical treatment. He will drink a lot of water or tea and stone will pass on its own.
