Are there any herbal alternative to Zovirax?

Hello! My brother got shingles. We went to see his doctor two days ago and he prescribed Zovirax but when we read the instructions and possible reactions like diarrhea, nausea, aggressive behavior, confusion and many others, we were not sure if he should take it or not. Of course he didn't have any of these side effects, but what if they occur? Maybe it would be better to try with some herbal medicines. Are there any herbal alternative to Zovirax?

Hello! Well, if you take and read the instructions for aspirin you will find even more information of "possible side effects". And this is just aspirin, a common drug. There is almost no medicine which hasn't possible side effects. I don't think you should worry so much. Side effects are rare but possible and if your brother feels any of them you should contact your doctor. There are many herbal products you can find in every drugstore stating they are effective in herpes infections, but you should be very careful with them. I don't think you should use any medicine without consulting your doctor first.
