Are there any major risks related to paracetamol?

Hello! My son is four years old. I enrolled him to the kindergarten six months ago because I started to work. Since then he has been sick very often. Usually his nose runs, he has a sore throat, fever or diarrhea, but fortunately he is usually well again after few days. My doctor says that his immune system has to adapt to the new surroundings in the kindergarten and that I shouldn’t worry. When he has fever I always give him paracetamol as my doctor told me. Are there any major risks related to paracetamol?

Hi! My children were having the same problems for almost a year after they started to go to the kindergarten and after that they were fine. They just needed some time to adjust. And I always used to give them paracetamol since it the most accepted medicine for fever and pain in adults and children. I think there are no side effects at all, when taken at recommended dosage, of course. As I know, the overdoses of this medicine can cause liver damage. I have never heard that someone is allergic to paracetamol but I have heard recently that people should limit the amount of coffee or energy drinks when taken paracetamol. Also, consumption of alcohol can cause toxic reactions in the liver. I think it would be vise not to use any of these drinks even when not taking paracetamol.
