Hello, This may be a strange question to ask but I have often wondered if I decide not to have children, would there be any medical consequences that I would be more likely to suffer from than if I had had children? My mother told me when I was younger that if a woman does not have children, she is more prone to get breast cancer or ovarian cancer...is this true? Or just an 'old-wives-tale'? I have been searching online for information but I have not been able to locate any medical support or studies that have been done on this topic. Can anyone refer me to a source please? I have Crohn's disease and peri-anal disease so I am concerned about the fact that my child may also suffer from these problems as there are studies that are showing conclusive evidence that there is a genetic predisposition for the disease. Thank you! Crying or Very sad
