My mother is 73 years old and she suffers from senile dementia that was caused by long-term hypertension. There were no symptoms present for a long time, but now we have noticed that she suffers from memory loss. Are there other symptoms of dementia beside damaged memory? Thanks for the help…

Unfortunately, there are some other symptoms too. Senile dementia is a progressive condition, and it includes deterioration of the personality of the patient, inability to learn abstract things, problems with connecting objects with names etc. Sadly, it is only a matter of time before these symptoms occur in your mother.
