Hello, folks. I suffer from congestive heart failure and I am on Digoxin. I also have tendency to AF and my doctor suggests me introducing Amiodarone into my regular therapy. I wonder whether there are possible interactions between these two drugs. I would appreciate all the info I can get. Thanks.

Hi. Both Digoxin and Amiodarone are potent medications. They have benefits, but they also have possible strong side effects. When combined, Amiodarone can increase Digoxin blood levels. You should be careful when taking them together. If you feel something like vision problems, allergic reactions, severe headache or anything similar, you should report it to your doctor. This combination can even have side effects on your heartbeats. They can cause slow or abnormally fast heartbeats. I hope I’ve helped. Good luck!
