Hello, I have been suffering from rheumatoid arthritis for a long time. This disease really changed my life for worse. In the beginning I have been taking synvisc shots until the third shot. It was not given in aseptic conditions, so I got bacterial infection of the knee and the pain is even stronger now. Is Arthrotec and Penicillin a good combination?
Unfortunately, situations like yours still happen. For giving s shots a lot of expertise is needed, since the shot is given directly into the joint, which is actually a great spot for infection (if the shot is not given properly, as it happened with you). Penicillin is an antibiotic which has a large area of effect, while Arthrotec acts as an anti inflammatory drug and subdues the pain.
