Audible heartbeat - even to other people !!

Hi,
after strenuous exercise I get a really loud heartbeat, so much so that my girlfriend can even hear it two feet away !!
I cannot believe this is normal, especially as I only started experiencing this about 2 months ago. I am 45 years old, not overweight at all and relatively healthy.
Any ideas welcome as I really don't seem to get anywhere with my GP

Same here.

I am 44 years old and this suddenly started about 6 months ago. Did you ever find out if this is a serious problem? I spoke to a cardiologist and she said that this is not possible. Unfortunately it does not happen every time so I can not demonstrate it at will.

did you ever find out what it was? i heard someones heart beating like that b4 and no one believes me.
