Posted: 06/07/06 - 04:46 Post subject: Bartholin Gland Cysts |
|
|
| I am 16 years of age and yesterday discovered a large lump on my inside lip of my vagina, i then discovered it was probably a bartholin cyst. I have done some research on the internet however there is no information for what i should do if it is painless. Do i need to see a doctor? The lump was around the size of a grape but has gone right down and now one side is just bigger than the other lip. How do i get it back 2 normal ? |

Hello,
Firstly, you need to see your doctor.
Secondly, a Bartholin's cyst is usually not painful unless it has been infected.
They should be located at the sides of the entrance to your vagina and should be unseen or felt when they are normal.
You shuld see you GP if it hasn't reduced in size after a few days or if it continues to get bigger, or if you suspect an infection. If it is infected, your doc should recommend an SDT test as this can cause a Bart' cyst to infect, given that you have been sexually active.
You say it wasn't painful which prob means no infection, if you're worried about it and it's size, see your doc, they will recommened the best thing.
Be safe |
