Been on the Cerezette Pill for 9 months and have had more time having periods and brown discharge!

I am nearly 18 and this is the first type of contrception that i have been on and for most of the time i have had a period or gettin spots of blood or discharge. It is only the past 2 months that i have had no blood at all but now a few days ago i have started a period again. Is this normal because i thought with this pill i was not ment to have any period at all after 6 months of being on it?
