i have the same nipple thing and i kept poking it at first even tho it hurt and it went away but then it came back so dont try that. my g/f dumped me for it and i would like to know wats going on just as much as all of you are.
you have a condition named: gynecomastia. This dysfuntion means that you are producing more "female hormones" than "male hormones". So the first sign is the develpment of breasts.
There are a lot of causes of gynecomastia, and you must see a doctor to know what is the cause. Howver it's interesting that one cause is idiopatic, that means that "we don't know the cause" and that cause is very very very common among male teenagers and it's benign.
I think you must see an endocrinologist doctor that will examinate you and will do a lot of blood tests to study your hormonal function.
Your condiction will probabibly be benign (like most teenagers) and you have 2 options. You are 16years old so you can wait until 18, 19 years old and see if your gynecomastia will disappear or not. If not there is only one option: plastic surgery! The results with that surgery are great.
Ps. I had that problem too when I was a teenager (now i'm 21years old)
