Bleeding after stopping Birthcontrol

I just recently stopped my BC because i missed like 4 days in a row..
after that I started getting period cramping for 2 days then the 3rd day
i started to bleed.. kind of dark redish/brown could that be from stopping
BC? when should i go back on it.. i've been bleeding for about 4 days now
and its the 1st of Sept, i had my real period on the 18th of Aug SOOO
