Bleeding during sex

I have very light periods that only last about 2 days with very little cramping. I just had a healthy pap smear. About 6 months ago I stopped taking the pill and very since then my periods have remained the same and regular. The only time I experience bleeding during intercourse is the week before my period starts, when I'm usually spotting. Sometimes it will be slight and other times it will be pretty scary. Should I be concerned or is the a normal thing at this time in the cycle?
