Hi, I am 19 yo male and I have noticed blood in semen, I have no pain and discomfort and I also haven’t noticed blood in my urine. What this could be, can this be some STD? I have had sex with only one girl, and we had protected sex using condoms.

If you have protected sex I doubt this could be some STD, and I don’t even know if blood in the semen is a symptom of some STD, but I do know is that it could be caused by inflamation, infection, blockage or injury in the male reproductive tract. It indicates the problem either in epididymis, prostate, urethra or testicles. If this hematospermia (blood in semen) last a few days and goes away on its own, this could be the inflamation of seminal vessicles, but if it is persistant, you should ask for the medical help and further examinations. If it shows it is some kind of infection, it is usually treated with oral antibiotics, and sometimes injections, but this is rare. I would always suggest that if you notice the blood in your semen, to make the appt with the doctor as you should find a real cause of this problem, and it should be treated on time.
