Bloodshot eyes for over 2 weeks, sometimes burning

I've had bloodshot eyes for over 2 weeks and sometimes they kinda burn but not too bad... some nights I dont get much sleep but other nights I get about the "right amount" of sleep(8 hours or so) and some nights I get more, but my eyes still seem to stay bloodshot no matter how much sleep I get.
Is this normal? Or do I need to see an eye doctor?
