My best friend is obsessed with removal of hair from her body. She is constantly talking about that, and always trying some new products for depilation, epilating. Not to mention shaving. Except her head, there is no part of her body that she did not shave. Is this normal?

It seems to me that your friend is a hair removal addict. Believe it or not, most of the women are like that. The problems begin when they get too obsessed with that, when it's the only thing that they think about. The question is what causes an obsession with body hair? It is believed that person with this "problem" has experienced some remark early in the childhood, in vulnerable stage. It all comes from our head. Around 30% of women and 15% of men are constantly worried about their appearance. They think that in order to be loved and excepted they need to be attractive by the standard that the society is presenting us. Methods for hair removal have stayed the same for centuries. Shaving is safe, easy and quick but it has to be done everyday and a rash can be developed.
